PROUT’s value base is neohumanism which holds a reverence for all life and provides a deep cure to environmental destruction. This class examines PROUT’s positions regarding humanity's interactions with the natural environment.

This 4-part course focuses on the role of neohumanism as a guide for navigating the upheavals of the planetary transformation we are currently experiencing. It explores the facets of neohumanism as a critical lens for discerning division and exploitation, and for envisioning a world based on life, love, and liberation for all beings. It considers significant social problems such as economic inequality, racism, patriarchy, imperialism, ecological destruction, and disenchantment as opportunities for intervention, transformation, and redirection along pathways that cultivate equality, healing, cooperation, justice, balance, and fulfilment.

Many people agree that we now face systemic global crisis and must adopt an alternative to business as usual. Advocates have long put PROUT forward to meet this challenge. Yet other alternatives have emerged and gained support, including movements for degrowth, a green new deal, the red deal, democratic socialism, and green capitalism, to name the most prominent. In this session we will distinguish some of the key features of these various approaches and how they compare with PROUT in addressing the most important problems of the day.
